NemKonto in a Danish financial institution

According to the Law on Public Payments, a NemKonto must be linked to an approved financial institution. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanstilsynet) assesses whether a company qualifies as a financial institution. If you are unsure whether the company where you wish to register a NemKonto is authorized to operate as a financial institution, you should contact Finanstilsynet.

Many financial institutions require businesses to open a corporate account with the bank. The financial institution will then assist in designating the corporate account as the company’s NemKonto.

1. Contact the financial institution where your company already has a bank account or open a new account if necessary.
2. Ask the financial institution to designate the bank account as your company's NemKonto.

Companies with SE or P numbers can assign a NemKonto to each unit. Please note that the public authority determines whether a payment can be made using the SE or P number as a reference.
